PAVILJOEN: 4 times expo Fine Art AKI

AKI Fine Art and Concordia are collaborating again this year in the special project Pavilion. Here, Concordia's art space functions as a place for AKI Fine Art students to step outside the academy, to experiment and to display ideas and research. Students tailor their work to the space and learn in what ways a presentation and a context influence how you see your own work, but also how audiences experience your work.

Four short exhibitions will be on show from 22 March. During the project, students are challenged to organise an event at their exhibition, such as an artisttalk or reading, a discussion or a screening of a film. All these events can contribute to the experience of the exhibition.

This edition of Pavilion has the format of four duo exhibitions. This provides a nice link to Concordia's doublet programme, where two artists are always paired up to work together. Dialogue is central, just as students learn to enter into a dialogue with their audience.
The students are supervised by a subject teacher, and by Concordia's visual arts curator Petra Boonstra.
