In the Rietveld building, you can look around the various workshops, including screen printing, graphics and ceramics. Watch students working on their projects or join a fashion drawing lesson in Fashion Design. Creative Writing graduates also have their base here. In the computer workshop, there’s a demo of VR glasses, with 3D printers rattling in the background. In the fashion workshop, students are designing and making clothes. Look in on a Graphic Design photoshoot in the photography workshop. See what you could get up to in the Design Art Technology software and hardware lab. To round things off, take a tour of the Paper Shop.
In the Midden building. you will pass the Service Point, where you can ask technical and practical questions. In the extensive Multimedia Library, you will encounter rows of books and magazines, a lounge area and workspaces.
In OK26, you can see students at work on a regular day. This is the home of BEAR Fine Art, Design Art Technology and Product Design. Wander through the BEAR Fine Art studios and marvel at all the sketches, paints and experiments. Watch shoes being designed in the Product Design leather workshop or see work-in-progress pieces in the carpentry workshop. Explore the equipment in the metal and digital workshop, or peek into the AV studio where students are working with a green screen and building stop-motion sets.
In OK74 you can look around the painters’ space. See how much freedom they have to exhibit and experiment, for example when the BEAR Fine Art students are at work. The Fine Art and Design in Education programme is also based here.
In each workshop, you can watch short videos where students show you around and explain what you can do there. It feels as if you have just strolled in – students greet you and guide you on your way.
