Do you already know what you want to study, or are you still exploring? Either way: an ArtEZ Open Day will help you move forward. You’ll experience the atmosphere, walk through the studios, and meet students and teachers.

Joined an open day and want to learn more about a programme? We also offer taster days!

Here are the open days in 2026

Enschede: Saturday 31 January (AKI ArtEZ Academy of Art & Design) and Saturday 15 November (all academies)
Zwolle: Thursday 5 March (Academy of Art & Design Zwolle and Artisteducator in Theatre & Media) and 7 November (all academies)
Arnhem: Saturday 14 November (all academies)

What to expect during the open days

During the open days, each academy has its own programme you can join. Expect info sessions, workshops, and live performances.

Make the most of your ArtEZ open day

Be sure to bring along your instrument or work. Some academies offer tips on auditions or creating portfolios.
Bring a friend or family member. A second opinion can give you a fresh perspective. Friends or family members might have a very different view of our programmes and facilities from your own.
Come with an open mind. You may have your sights set on one programme, but you might be inspired by another discipline. It’s okay to change your mind!

Taster days

You are excited about a programme and want to find out if it really fits you. That’s why we invite you to join one of our taster days or (online) information sessions.

During a taster day, you join the regular classes for a day or part of a day. You get a feeling for the atmosphere, meet students and teachers, and learn more about the content of the programme. After a taster day, you have a clear idea of the programme that interests you.

Another way to learn more about a programme is an online information session. In this session, you hear everything about the programme and the classes.

Tip: At ArtEZ Academy of Music in Arnhem and Zwolle you can also follow trial lessons.

An open day and study try-out gives you a real sense of what it’s like to be a student at ArtEZ. During an open day, you’ll see projects, exhibitions, performances and concerts – all created and presented by our students. It’s a great way to experience the ArtEZ community. We want you to feel welcome and confident to be yourself. That's because we know that’s the key to creativity.
