Drone shots from above, men filmed in the dark, and endless protests against refugee centres. When I look at the media, it almost seems like the only opinions about refugees are negative. They are called fortune seekers, people who make the country unsafe, people who steal our jobs and houses. I find these opinions unfair. Instead of viewing them as numbers crossing the border, we should focus on their personal stories. How is it to leave everything behind? To build a new life somewhere else?
