I do not make projects about people and places, but with them. Giving them agency and a voice in the non-linear narratives of my films. Whether it is an essayistic short about the missing windows in Bachelard’s Poetics of Space, or the suburban awkwardness of my relatives. Every source, space or person is present on its own terms.

The film ‘Opa, Oma, Astrid’ offers a close look into the daily routines of a middle-class family. Time passes by slowly, rituals are observed and everyday life becomes magnified. Their vulnerabilities coming into contrast more and more with the confines of the comfortable shell they inhabit.

I ask all the people I work with the same question: “If you could change your view, what would you like to see?” This resulted in a series of analogue photographs, a side project almost, portraying the subjects looking into the camera, empowered in front of their ideal world.
