Movement often plays an important role in my artworks. In the works I make, movement can be triggered by people, influenced by nature, or set in motion mechanically. In my artworks, I work with a wide variety of materials. In the recent years I fell in love with the material glass and have taught myself the craft of glassworking, using a handheld torch. This allows me to manipulate the glass into different shapes, which can form small art pieces or larger structures when assembled. I also frequently experiment with light in my work and find a great fascination in incorporating lamps. There is an allure for me in the way light transforms space and perception.

With some of my artworks, I hope to spark small moments of contact, brief conversations between strangers that might become the starting point for new connections. In this way, I hope my work, however modest, contributes to a world where reaching out to someone else becomes just a little easier. Art has the power to bring people together, to make them play, explore, and break the ice. That’s why I often incorporate the possibility of transformation into my work. Viewers are a lot of times invited to touch, shift, or reshape the artwork, to make it their own in a way.

Glass Dance

Glass Dance consists of many small glass figures connected. Visitors, wearing headlamps, stepped into the dark space and created a shared shadow dance around the glass turning their movements into part of the artwork itself.

Handy Lamp

Handy Lamp is built from various other lamps. Each bulb works, so when one burns out, replacing it not only keeps the lamp functional but also reshapes the sculpture. Each new bulb adds a new layer, making the lamp an ever-changing artwork in your home.

Hooked

The different glass pieces in Hooked can be taken apart and rearranged, allowing you to create a new shape within the lamp.
