Congrats! Andrea van der Kuil, Elke Timmermans and Laura Dubourjal received a starters voucher!

Andrea van der Kuil finished her master Performance Practices in 2022. Her work, involving textiles, text, and performance, searches for ideas surrounding gender norms and domestic craft, such as em-broidery. She will use the money from the voucher to invest in atelier andrea. atelier andrea will be her space to commit to her mission: to create an Amsterdam-based craft house that celebrates textile art, teaches craft skills to others, and inspires conscious consumerism. Through her sharing of her craft knowledge and passion, she wants to cultivate an inclusive and social craft community. Now that she has received the voucher, she will use an ABC Coach to support her in realizing her plans.

Elke Timmermans has studied music therapy and is focussing on her master's in educational science and technology right now. She received the starter voucher for her company, MusicMovesU. With MusicMovesU, she wants to teach childcare workers how to have music be part of the curriculum and everyday life in schools. Music education can have numerous positive effects on a child's brain; for instance, it can teach them to listen to each other. She will use the money from the voucher to develop courses in which she teaches adults how to deliver effective musical education, even when they didn't study for it.

Laura Dubourjal graduated from her master's DAI Art Praxis in 2022. She applied for the starter voucher to launch her interdisciplinary fashion studio. In her work, she's in search of characters and the performances of everyday life. Her first collection, "Grandma wants me to be a housewife" is a collection that tells the story of her grandma's relation to clothes, reimagining the apron as a symbol of empowerment and resistance, celebrating the inspiring stories of women who challenged gender con-straints. She wants to use the money to invest in sustainable production, the development of a user-friendly website, and an expansion of her role in the community, where she aims to increase inclusivity through creative programs.
