Notice of resignation of Maarten Bremer
The Board of Governors has taken note of Maarten Bremer's decision to step down as a member of ArtEZ's Executive Board. Following his appointment in 2018, he has made a significant contribution to the governance of ArtEZ University of the Arts. His administrative achievements include the establishment of the Kwaliteitsafspraken programme, restoring the executive team to full strength and the dealing with the corona pandemic.
The Board of Governors is very sorry to see him leave ArtEZ and is grateful for his great contribution to ArtEZ. Of course the Board of Governors respects his decision to take a next step in his career after a period of 5 years at ArtEZ. In Maarten’s words: "I have found that the policy-making tasks that come with being a member of the board do not give me enough satisfaction and energy." Maarten finds it important that there is a careful and proper procedure for his succession. His decision to remain until February gives us time for this.
The Board of Governors will reflect on the profile and procedure over the next month. For the profile and the actual recruitment, the Board of Governors will be supported by an external agency.
