Performance Technology Lab: valuable for the artistic practice of performing artists

Valuable for artistic practice

Dance in Education and Music Theater students from ArtEZ will participate as part of these curated modules with the aim of using the skills learned during the week for their own individual artistic trajectories.

This week is not only important for students to discover what technologies are currently used in the sector, but also to inspire possible future scenarios: what role could technology play (even more) in telling contemporary stories, what artistic explorations are conceivable. And how can the academy invest in available resources for artistic-digital developments.

Giving meaning to technology

More and more theater-makers and dancers are experimenting on stage with today's visual and technological culture, utilizing both new and old technological approaches within their performances. That technology can gain further meaning on stage if it is involved in the development of artistic work from the conceptual phase. The Performance Technology Lab gives makers that space.

Workshops

This second edition showcases three leading live performance artist-creators who use new technological approaches in their work. The workshops focus on Video Mapping (Gertjan Biasino), VR + 360 Film (Bram de Goeij) and Interactive light image and sound (Chagall).

An impression of the week will follow afterwards!
