APRIA announces the results of Open Call #3: Ways of Knowing

  • Research

In autumn 2021, the APRIA Platform Advisory Board sent out an Open Call entitled, 'Ways of Knowing.' The call was an invitation to the ArtEZ community (and beyond) to investigate how knowledge is created, shared and used.

Knowledge is not just what we know. What is not being considered? Which narratives are ignored? Who decides what knowledge is of value? And who has access to it?

By striving to share knowledge in ways that do justice to diverse voices and viewpoints, this year’s theme 'Ways of Knowing' aimed to uncover new ways of living together.

This week APRIA announces the results of the Open Call, starting with 'Listening to Bodies of Water: The River as a Site of Knowledge,' by BEAR graduate, Martine van Lubeek.

Over the next few months, APRIA will publish a total of 15 contributions from ArtEZ students, alumni, and other creatives and researchers who bring a broad and exciting array of insights, ranging from witchcraft and ancestral knowledge to digital literacy and educational structures.

The full list of contributors (in order of publication) include: Martine van Lubeek, Allie E.S. Wist, Benjamin Schoonenberg, Claire Matthews, Julka Walkowiak, Karla Paredes de Krentel, Maica Gugolati, Marsha Bruinen, Nadine Botha, Natalia Sliwinska, Tomaz Simatovic, one research collective, projektado collective, Alvarx del Fresno, and H.Q. Lê.
