11 top rated programmes

The bachelor courses at ArtEZ that received a rating of 75 points or higher in the Higher Vocational Education Guide’s quality comparison – and that are therefore among the best in the Netherlands – are: Theatre Arnhem (School of Acting), Dance Arnhem, Music Enschede (MediaMusic and Academy of Pop Music), Music Therapy Enschede, Theatre in Education Arnhem, Theatre in Education Zwolle, Dance in Education Arnhem, Music in Education Enschede, Music in Education Zwolle and Fine Art and Design in Education Arnhem. These bachelors bear the quality mark ‘top rated programme 2022’.

Quality of ArtEZ courses remains highly valued

Marjolijn Brussaard, President of the Executive Board of ArtEZ: ‘It is great to see that ArtEZ’s bachelor courses once again score highly in this independent Higher Vocational Education Guide. This shows appreciation of our students, alumni and the field. We are happy about that. It was exciting, especially because the content of the NSE has changed this year, making comparison with previous years less easy. With an exceptional corona period behind us – and ahead of us – we continue to work on our quality.’

Current NSE results

The ratings of the Higher Vocational Education Guide 2022 are based on the results of the National Student Survey (NSE) 2021. After three years, the Higher Vocational Education Guide was once again able to use the most up-to-date data on how students rate their course. After all, the 2020 and 2019 surveys were cancelled due to the outbreak of COVID-19 and technical difficulties in completing the survey, forcing the Higher Vocational Education Guide to use data from 2018 for the past two editions. The NSE 2021 was conducted using a completely revised questionnaire, as a result of which new themes were compiled for the student’s opinions (programme content, lecturers, testing, career preparation and atmosphere). This means that this year’s ratings cannot be compared 1-on-1 with those of previous years. ArtEZ scored highly in the NSE with almost all indicators showing an improvement compared to the previous NSE results.
