Alumni and lecturer ArtEZ nominated for Buma Awards

The Buma Awards are Dutch prizes awarded by the Buma Cultuur Foundation. The Buma Awards National and International are awarded to the composers and lyricists of the most played and best-selling singles. In addition, prizes are awarded in the categories Multimedia, Film and Classical music. This year there are four nominees from ArtEZ!​​​​​​​

The Buma Awards, for the achievements of the previous year, are awarded in March. On May 20th, Buma announces the winners.

Matthijs Kieboom

Matthijs Kieboom, lecturer Composer for Film, Game and Media, has been nominated in the category Best Original Composition in Short Film. He wrote the score for The Cloudmaker, directed by Hanna van Niekerk (produced by Hazazah / NTR). 

Mike Meurs

Mike Meurs, alumnus of Jazz & Pop Arnhem , was also nominated in the category Best Original Composition in Short Film. He wrote the score for Margin of Terror, an animation film made by Kieran McLister.

Daan Jansen

Daan Jansen, alumnus of MediaMusic, works at KH Music and already won the award in 2020. Together with his partners Ward Henselmans and Jeroen Kuitenbrouwer, Daan was nominated in the Best Television Design category for the sound logo of the Evangelische Omroep (EO). In addition, Daan and KH Music were nominated in the category Best Original Composition in Podcasts, for De Kersentuin of De Hoorspelfabriek.

Koen Cramer

Koen Cramer, alumnus of MediaMusic, has been nominated for the New Talent Award for his score for Odds by director Edwin Schaap.
