Mirte Engelhard wins Arnhem Culture Award 2020

Mirte Engelhard, Fashion Design alumnus, has won the Arnhem Culture Award 2020. Based in the Arnhem fashion quarter, Mirte devotes her work to the causes of world peace and sustainability.
II feel enormously spoiled and validated by winning the Arnhem Culture Award. I will use the prize money to buy time. It’s been a long time since I’ve been truly free to make the work I want. This award means I can spend two months making and promoting an entirely new collection. Watch this space!
Arnhem Culture Award
Each year, Arnhem municipality presents the Arnhem Culture Award. This incentive prize is awarded to a talented young artist or group of artists who are making an innovative contribution to the cultural landscape of Arnhem and enhance and add significance to its image as the cultural city of the Eastern Netherlands. The Arnhem Culture Award is part of the Arnhemse Uitnacht cultural programme and this year was presented online. The jury said of Mirte: interdisciplinary, play hard - work hard, clear mission, own signature, direct and dynamic, world peace and sustainability, comfortable and extravagant.
