Who are you as a performer?
This is a question with many answers. I’m someone who is devoted to the work. I’m someone who likes to go deep into the work. My artistry is a way for me to explain things without having to vocalize them. It’s speaks for me when I can’t.
What are your ambitions?
To become the best in my eyes. I want to get to a level where I’m comfortable and versatile in a lot of different things. I guess my ambitions are to keep exploring the field and to keep pushing myself. With all the things that I learned now, how can I bring myself to the next level.
Also to not look down on myself. To always remember that the audience has a completely different view on what I’m doing.
Where do you find inspiration?
I find that my inspiration comes from the most random things. Things like music, movies, shows, the world, people, etc… Sometimes it’s a sound, a texture, or a shift in light that sparks something in me. I’m drawn to contrast, stillness, tension and how those elements live in the body. Inspiration usually comes when I’m fully present and letting things flow without overthinking.

What did you do at your internship & what did you learn?
This year I learned that being chill can be your best friend. To not take everything as serious. Being so tense all the time doesn’t take you anywhere. You of course need to focus and do the job, but outside of that, just let all the rest go. This was my biggest struggle. I was constantly busy with being perceived instead of focusing on what I was doing. After trying to let this go I noticed a significant difference. The way I perceived people and certain situations was completely different. I was able to keep myself centered. I also learned that being an apprentice is a really difficult position to be in. It’s like being a first year all over again which is not something I had anticipated.
