Yağmur Şimşek - Classical Piano

Yağmur has been examining existing strategies for injuries as such, and worked on developing new ways of practicing during recovery, inspired by various physical practices. She has incorporated this knowledge with the pianistic exercises to find a way to help her recovery process. The programme that is featured in the concert is showcasing the progress of Yagmur through these exercises, since she was able to play again in April 2023. With this approach, she hopes to inspire other pianists or musicians that are facing similar difficulties in their recovery process, in sync with their instruments.

In her final concert as a Piano Master’s student at ArtEZ Academy of Music, Yağmur Şimşek performed works by J. S. Bach, R. Schumann and M. Ravel. In the past year, Yağmur has been working on a research project about the recovery process musicians go through when they have serious injuries after having a wrist fracture caused by a crash.
