Utku Geçgel - Classical Piano

The 18th century English author Samuel Johnson called curiosity “the thirst of the soul.” In his master’s graduation concert, Turkish pianist Utku Geçgel investigated the relationship between the music experience and curiosity. By applying Emotion Networking Method that has been developed in Reinwardt Academy, Amsterdam Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, Utku Geçgel has made several workshops throughout the past year in order to search for an answer to “What kind of impact does the information have on music experience?”

Alongside a diverse program including works by J. S. Bach, F. Mendelssohn, A. Scriabin and A. A. Saygun, accompanied by insights about the works, Utku Geçgel is aiming to improve audience engagement in classical music performance.
