Abstract: The book Unfolding Fashion Tech: Pioneers of Bright Futures by Marina Toeters, a fashion tech designer, contains a selection of fifty pioneering fashion tech projects realised in the last twenty years. These projects are complemented by eight short theoretical and practical articles including the contribution of a short essay from Daniëlle Bruggeman.
The book presents today’s state of fashion technology and gives an impression of the future, where fashion and technology could merge, according to designers, scientists, industry professionals and theorists in the fashion technology field. It embodies their different viewpoints on the challenges and explores alternatives to the abundance of discarded clothing buried in landmasses. Unfolding Fashion Tech: Pioneers of Bright Futures offers a hopeful view for the future of fashion, textiles and technology.
