The ThINK Programme

Together with the faculty of Art & Design at ArtEZ, the Theory in the Arts professorship has been investigating the role of theory in education in arts. This has led to a completely new foundation for teaching theory. The ThINK programme became part of all bachelor courses within the Faculty of Art & Design. Under the leadership of Laura van Grinsven, theory has been developed and made part of the faculty's teaching programme in a dynamic way. The theory lecturers were systematically linked to assignments within students' artistic practice, where in the past these were subjects that were on the sidelines.
Research project aimed at developing a whole new theory curriculum for all bachelor’s programs in art and design; accompanied with activities and discussions organized by teachers and professorship. ThINK has become a compulsory part of every ArtEZ art & design curriculum.
