“Sometimes a fresh breeze blows through the notes but often the melancholy that fits beautifully with Janácek's work dominates...” (Volkskrant)

In September, pianist Helena Basilova will join the team of lecturers for Classical Music as a main subject lecturer. She succeeds Frank Peters, who will continue to teach young talent and piano students taking the internal Preparatory Course in Arnhem. He will also continue teaching his current Bachelor’s students until their graduation.

In 2008, Helena obtained her Master's degree from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, followed by a Master's in Piano Performance at New York University in 2012. She has performed on many stages in the Netherlands and abroad, partly due to her participation in the 2008 Debut Series Concert Tour. Helena has taught students of very different levels, from young talent at the Sweelinck Academy in Amsterdam to students of New York University.

It is important to Helena that the reach and range of classical music is increased. She has performed in projects where her piano playing was combined with poetry, fine art, jazz or dance and will always continue searching for new ways and locations to bring her music to life.
