Cracking the Code

'The artist-educator is open to the other and the other' and 'the artist-educator is an agent of change'. These are two (of the four) conclusions that emerged in the search for the common values that characterize teacher education at ArtEZ in the 'Teacher training in the light' project. https://docentenopleidingeninhetlicht.artez.nl
The Cracking the Code project went a step further. 'How can we promote diversity and inclusive action by teachers and students of the teacher training and actively promote it. How can the ArtEZ teacher training programs attract various groups in our society.' In various ‘Site specific’ projects, round table discussions, inspiration meetings with guest speakers organized alongside and around the normal programs, the inclusive thinking and acting were 'practiced' in an experimental manner. Researchers took part in the projects and activities and provided insight into the effect and the effect of this experimental approach. The project contributed to and supported the value of the ArtEZ artist-aducator as an agent of change.
