Music Production
The Music Production is the annual showcase of the Music in Education programme at ArtEZ University of the Arts, Academy of Music in Enschede.
Every year, the fourth-year students take responsibility for organising the entire production. This includes everything related to music, theatre, technology, education, planning, communication, PR and finances. Students from the first, second and third years contribute to bringing the show to life. From the start of the academic year until the final performance, all students take part in a three-hour rehearsal every week, led by the fourth-year students.
The Story
For seven summers now, summer camp has been their place. The place where Sam, Tycho and Jip reunite year after year. A familiar spot surrounded by nature, where they have been making memories for as long as they can remember. Their friendship always felt effortless, but over time, their worlds have grown apart. And perhaps they have changed too.
Tensions between the friends continue to rise, reaching a breaking point when one of Sam's pranks goes completely wrong.
What happens when everything becomes content? When you constantly have to prove yourself, while you're still figuring out who you really are? Can you still truly see one another when everyone is constantly concerned with how others perceive them?
Caught between dreams, expectations, screens and the need to belong, these three friends are searching for something that once seemed so simple: each other.
A relatable performance for young people about friendship, identity and the question of who you are when nobody is watching.
