Marc Boumeester has been appointed as the new director of AKI ArtEZ. His appointment was announced on Thursday 16 April in Enschede.
Marc Boumeester has been at ArtEZ for eight years already. In addition to his lectureship at AKI ArtEZ, he was involved in the transformation of the Visual Communication department into the Crossmedia Design department of today and has recently formulated the concept and curriculum for the new programme Moving Image.
Marc studied Communication Science at the University of Amsterdam and worked as an executive producer of films, television programmes and documentaries. He has also been active in art education, at the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague, Fontys University of Applied Sciences and the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft). At TU Delft, he developed several Master’s programmes which combine media, art and architecture. In addition to his work for ArtEZ, Marc is currently working on his PhD thesis at the Centre for Arts in Society (LUCAS) at Leiden University.
In Marc Boumeester, we have found a Director for AKI ArtEZ who knows the organisation well, has a broad range of experience and an extensive national and international network. On 1 May, Marc will begin his duties which will take up three days a week. We wish him the best of luck.
