Final Exam | Laura Torres Morales - The Rebirth of our Voices | Master Classical music | Viool

Inspired by Bartók's ethnomusicological contribution to Hungarian regional folklore, this recital was born from the desire to contribute equally to the preservation and exaltation of the importance of Andalusian folklore. Thus, the works interweave a network that reflects the influences and relationships that the composers had with each other, being reflected in the music.

Along with Debussy and Ysaÿe we enter the search for a personal language, different from the musical tradition until then, full of new sonorities, in a space in which both composers shared friendship and exchanged opinions. On the other hand, Ysaye meets Bartók through Joseph Szigeti, a great violinist to whom he dedicates his first sonata for solo violin, in which his performative personality is reflected on the music as he conceived it. In turn, Szigeti and Bartók maintained a close relationship of friendship and mutual admiration. It all converges on the 1940 recital at the Library of Congress, in which Bartók and Szigeti performed Debussy’s Sonata for violin and piano. This cycle closes with the creation of a new composition in which the Andalusian tradition is incorporated and adapted to current contemporary music, giving birth to a new search for shared expression between the performer, Laura Torres Morales, and the composer Javier Rodríguez García.
