Ylva Rietman

Ylva Rietman is an actress, performer, theater maker and singer/musician. She graduated as a performing artist from the Bachelor of Drama at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK) in Ghent (BE) and is currently completing her Masters in Music Theatre at ArtEZ (2024), focusing on (play) research into violent women and writing about authenticity.

TRIGGER WARNING is a performance in which Ylva explores the boundaries of female violence. She asked Stefan Aleksić to write a text for her, partly inspired by the character 'Villanelle' from the series 'Killing Eve' and the archetype of the 'wild woman'. What happens when you (as a woman) break societal expectations and let go? Indulging in the most hidden thoughts and violent fantasies? The performance takes you into the different layers of the psyche of a complex (violent) characteristic character. A character who tries to keep to the people around her and the different voices in her head, with the (true) news of a brand in the villa of a dramatic actress as a trigger.
