I'm trying to be a present human being. I love being in contact with the audience, and I often find myself searching for eye contact. I'm interested in how I can communicate with an audience, whether through dance, acting, or singing. I'm often more occupied with the experience and perception of something than with how it looks. I'm interested in what something does to people and how it is received, rather than focusing solely on aesthetics.
I want to keep learning and growing. I want to keep connecting with the people around me and doing things that feel meaningful to me. I want to contribute to creating a more sustainable working environment, while continuing to nurture my own curiosity. Graduating is just one point in time, so I want to keep looking around and exploring what is out there. My ambition is to be a good human being: to support the people around me, help others when I can, and contribute to making the spaces I influence as healthy and supportive as possible.
Everywhere. That's kind of the boring answer, but I follow the ebb and flow of my associative brain. Inspiration can be fleeting, and often appears when you least expect it. I'm inspired by the absurd, the crooked, the weird. By the things that fall outside the box. I'm inspired by discovering my own limits and exploring my inner landscapes, challenging myself to go where it almost feels a little too scary to go. I'm inspired by getting to know myself and others better. I'm inspired by artists who dare to provoke, take risks, and truly go somewhere with their work.
I mainly spent a season with Holstebro Theatre's Dance company, alongside a number of shorter projects. Much of my time was spent understudying and learning the parts of other dancers, but I also had the opportunity to perform in smaller productions and teach young students. I participated in research weeks focused on developing future productions, which gave me insight into different stages of the creative process. One of the biggest things I learned was the importance of having good people around you. Looking back on the year, it's clear to me that you don't always understand the purpose or value of something in the moment, but later it can become deeply meaningful. I've learned to be flexible and adaptable, to be ready for whatever comes next, whether stressful or not. It's not always comfortable or pleasant, but I've become better at embracing the unexpected and moving with it rather than against it.
