FloraFlow
A project where I give importance to natural elements that are often overlooked.
I like showing myself through my elements.
Having a strong connection to nature, I work with raw materials that I then modify and
model into organic shapes, while adding some humour and a twisted touch. One of my
characteristics is that I feel strongly connected to common natural elements, which I believe
are too often ignored.
That’s why I like creating projects where these elements are uplifted and placed at the core,
not as the centre of attention, but as the centre of interest. In my work, natural elements are
central; they are the communication.
This approach continues in my graduation project, where I explore the expressive potential
of metal by shaping it into flowers, paying tribute to nature through an industrial material.
Unusually, this graduation project started in total chaos, no clear plan, just making and
experimenting. I used surrealist methods to explore how we see and interpret things,
creating nonsense posters and abstract 3D forms. Eventually, I returned to something more
personal and poetic: flowers.
I combined my earlier abstract work with a flower I had made before, pushing it further into
something playful and surrealist, ending up in three versions of an artificial flower, small for
terraces, medium for gardens, and large for cities.
They’re meant to move with the wind, like real flowers, but they don’t fade. Avoiding some
elements such as green on the flower itself on purpose to challenge typical nature
associations and keep key things I value in flowers: curves, color, and movement.
It’s my way of dealing with a negative view of the world, accepting that nature is
disappearing, while still adapting and creating something beautiful from it.
