Who are you as a performer/artist?
That is a good question... I think I am still going to be busy with it for a while. For now I can say that I am trying to be the most authentic version of myself on stage. Being in an internal experience while projecting the story and the experience to the viewer.
Those three years in school and the internship time now has got me few steps closer to discover who I am as an artist, but , the definite answer is still to be discover. This is VERY EXITING!
What are your ambitions?
As cheesy as it sounds , i wish for my self to do only things that makes me happy. To encounter places where i can be artisticlay challenge and intrigd. I want to be where I should be in my way! And this only time will tell.
Where do you find inspiration?
I find a lot of inspiration in people. People are full of complexities, emotions and basically carry with them lots of information. I learn so much from all the people around me and it triggers within me a lot of thoughts and creativity.
What did you do at your internship & what did you learn?
In my internship I did a lot of different things. We worked on 3 big productions. Two of the pieces we premiered in March and we tour in the Netherlands over summer. The third production is a short version of a piece from Club Guy&Roni which we toured to high schools in NL. Both experiences and processes were amazing but very different. Besides that, we also had research weeks with 3 choreographers which was also a complete different experience…
I am learning here so much, but I think it will sink in fully only when I’ll have time to reflect. This is not a classic internship, I think its way beyond…
To make it short than, I have learned a lot about working with choreographers and different approaches, got expose to acting and singing on stage, how to work in a group and deal with working situation, being tired and exhausted and having to perform and deliver. But the biggest aspect is the people met here that enriched my knowledge and help me grow more a dancer, performer and especially and person. It was not an easy year, but I am happy for all of its sides.
