Let Me Cook
"I search, I explore, I rebel."
The concept of “Let Me Cook” emerged from my exploration of Feng Shui, Chinese measuring tape, Chinese face mapping, and other traditional rules. These cultural elements raised questions in my mind about conformity and tradition and questioned the necessity of conforming to such rules. While digging deeper, I found a connection between face-reading rules and societal beauty standards, especially for women. The idea that a woman’s appearance determined her suitability as a wife inspired me to break free from these norms, leading me to create objects inspired by my own body, celebrating individuality.
Building upon my previous project “My Body, My Rules” I embraced a playful approach to challenge societal norms and the desire to be the centre of attention, I invited guests to interact with my body as a display of vulnerability.
“Let Me Cook” offers a deeply immersive dining experience that goes beyond food. It celebrates intimacy, vulnerability, and connection. As guests engage with the tactile and personal elements of the meal, they will encounter a sense of intimacy and vulnerability that is guaranteed to make a lasting impression.
