My biggest fascination; Influences from the outside on matter.

I was sitting at this wooden table and looking down at the table top, it was all scratches, marks, cracks, gaps, layers of paint, varnish and pieces of tape that still held it together after many years of use. Under the legs of the table there was a glass ash tray duct-taped to the ground to keep the table from falling down. I started thinking about the many lives this object should've had and how it was still very much in use. This moment exactly was when I decided I wanted to visualize this process and the appreciation of it. The way of aging and getting marked by forces from outside, and the quick solutions we make until something dissolves and loses its function. The many ways we all have to slow down this process is a key note of the inspiration of my collection.

The aim of the collection is to visualize the effect forces from the outside have, the path of survival, protection, rebirth and quick solutions in a lifecycle. I translated this into a protective outerwear collection that creates an armour to shield us against changes from the environment but at the same time also embrace these changes. With both historical and military references; to show vulnerability in contrast with sheltering and being able to move forward. I want to display the dynamic way of changes. With found footage I want to share my interpretation and fascination of quick and artificial solutions.
