(Un)Told

Untold stories are those stories which haven’t been given the time or space to truly be told. I see power in telling these stories, for the storytellers but also for the readers.

(Un)Told is an installation which creates the space to tell three untold stories. Each story is displayed through three layers of sheer curtains, and reveals the different layers of each story. The curtains give these stories a physical place in the world because we cannot see anything until light hits it.

I want to show that every experience should be given the time and space to be told, without doubt whether a story should be perceived as true. As one always tells the truth, but not the whole truth because it’s impossible to tell it all.

Tessa Fröling

Tessa Fröling (1997) is a graphic designer interested in the very grey area between truth and fiction. This interest stems from her eagerness to explore alternative definitions and perspectives around a topic. Throughout the design process she often finds solutions in the way things are done. She focuses more on the methods than on the outcomes. If the method is corresponding within the design process, the outcomes are often very satisfactory. If they are not, the method often needs to be tweaked in order to create successful outcomes. Also, writing accompanies almost all of her conceptual work because it is also a large part of her design process.
