Diana Vieira Alves

In de afgelopen jaren heeft Diana zich ontwikkeld tot de energieke dansdocent die ze vandaag de dag is. Een docent die graag wil dat haar leerlingen zich veilig voelen in de danszaal, zodat zij het uiterste uit zichzelf kunnen halen. Ze is het meest trots op haar projecten in de community arts. Diana had het voorrecht om als dansdocente naar de Filippijnen en Namibië te gaan, om les te geven aan kinderen in de sloppenwijken. Tijdens deze projecten was haar doel de kinderen een zorgeloze week te bezorgen, waar zij hun liefde voor dans konden uiten.

Naast de community arts projecten geeft Diana ook les in verschillende technische dansstijlen. Van klassiek ballet, jazz en contemporary/floorwork, tot Latijns-Amerikaanse dansstijlen. Met haar lessen hoopt ze een steentje bij te kunnen dragen aan de dansontwikkeling van haar leerlingen. Aangezien Diana op Curacao opgegroeid is, staan muzikaliteit, energie en dansplezier ten alle tijden centraal in haar lessen. Ze zorgt ervoor dat haar leerlingen swingend en met een goed gevoel naar huis gaan. Ook ontwikkelt ze zich graag verder in het ondernemerschap. Diana deed voor haar afstuderen onderzoek naar het oprichten van een vooropleiding dans op Curaçao. Haar doel voor de toekomst is om de overstap van het voortgezet onderwijs op Curaçao, naar een kunstopleiding op het hbo in Nederland, kleiner te maken.

Diana has developed herself into an energetic dance teacher. A teacher who wants her students to feel safe in the dance studio, so they can discover the best in themselves. She is most proud of her projects within the Community Arts. Diana had the chance to visit the Philippines and Namibia as a dance teacher: to teach children in the slums. During these projects her aim was to give the children a carefree week where they could express their love for dance.

Diana teaches various dance styles, from classical ballet, jazz, and contemporary floor work to Latin American dances. She focuses on the dance development of her students. Diana is disciplined, energetic and a perfectionist, but there is definitely time for jokes as well!

Diana is also developing her entrepreneurship. For her bachelor thesis she researched and worked on establishing a dance education in Curaçao. Her goal for the future is to minimize the gap in transition from high school education in Curaçao to a university of the arts in the Netherlands smaller. Because Diana herself comes from Curaçao, she has experienced this transfer herself and wishes to help others in their process.
