Who are you as a performer/artist?
When I am performing, I strive for radical presence.
I seek to give space to the diverse universe of my body.
I welcome sensitivity and softness as much as raw power.
I embrace the uniqueness of each moment.

I believe in bringing the totality of my being to the stage.
I want to give a lot and I want to receive a lot.

What are your ambitions?
My most important goal is to keep my desire for dancing alive. I want to fuel myself in a way that I will always remain curious about what else there is. I feel that there is so much to discover, so much new territory to tap into. I am forever inspired by the ongoing search to find knowledge and mastery in my body.

In the next few years, I want to establish myself as a freelance dancer in the Netherlands. I am curious to see where I find my place in this community. Next to performing I am also seeking to become a teacher and pass my knowledge on to others.

Where do you find inspiration?
It feels to me as though there are so many layers to my own being, that this alone could keep me going. The discovery of myself in relation to this world is never ending. I look at nature a lot, with the understanding that the world around me is vibrant and alive. Reading about indigenous ways of knowing has had a meaningful impact on how I look at the world and its agency. I think in the end I am always searching for more freedom for myself, and to create sustainable relation to the world around me.

What did you do at your internship & what did you learn?
This year I did my internship with the Poetic Disasters Club in Groningen. It was a year full of different processes and experiences. Being thrown into all types of situations, meeting many new makers and performing all over the Netherlands, both in theaters and other locations like churches and museums, I really learned a lot. I enjoyed the intimate setting of a small group of colleagues, where we grew collectively as much as individually. Within that we were able to take ownership of our work, which I valued a lot.
