Mass + Mass

I want to increase the relationship between human and object. That is why I looked at humans and animals and how they long for each other.

For me, it is about the relationship you can have with an object and how this grows over time.

My research to find love and meaning in objects that various people own, has resulted in a three-word conclusion: got, found and inherited. These words form the basis for a new start of a relationship with an object. A long-term relationship in which comfort and love will be present.

To understand this connection between human and object and human owning objects I conducted a study in which I used my body as a tool. Here, you can see morphing between me and the objects in a playful way with different uses of the objects. These images and sculptures that became alive created a world. A world where human and object become one.

Collecting materials is something I love to do, and so my work is layered with adopted materials that I want to give a second life. Some people see these materials as waste, whereas I see their beauty. Their rawness gives them the strongest character and makes them useful for my work. A simple bag that was saved became my inspiration to create my collection, a group made up of collected raw materials and versatility in attitude.
