Project Romulus & Remus

Project Romulus & Remus repurposes abandoned fiberglass boats into a cost-effective catamaran, fulfilling the creator's childhood dream of ship ownership. The boats are attached side by side, offering stability and comfort similar to a 12-meter ship. Discovering numerous abandoned boats in Dutch yards, the project began by repurposing them, with two boats provided for free by a harbour and a nearby shipyard offering construction space. Two cabins were built, optimizing space and weight, with a sleeping cabin low and a living cabin designed to connect with nature. Salvaged materials were used to minimize costs.

Supportive materials like a logbook and mood images complement the project, showcasing potential adventures. Ultimately, Project Romulus & Remus transforms abandoned boats into sources of joy, challenges perceptions, and breathes new life into neglected vessels.
