Who are you as a performer/artist?

I consider myself an expressive performer and artist, always looking for ways to share feelings with people, with whatever creative means necessary. Striving towards creating a unique (little) universe and or character(s) that enables me and the audience to live within this world. Both as a performer and creator.

What are your ambitions?

My ambitions contain of working with different artist as a dancer that have something to say with their art and fully believe in what they do, as well as exploring what this can mean for myself as an artist. I would love to learn more about music so it could become a relevant part in future creations. Also continuing to give myself space to stay open for creativity is what continues to be important to me. With being an artist I also strive to travel a lot and get to know more about different cultures and people, to give space to the experience of life which feeds creativity.

Where do you find inspiration?

Music is a big inspiration for me, as well as images that resonate with me from film.
To work from imagery, emotions, curiosity and experience is what strongly steers my choices as an artist.

What did you do at your internship & what did you learn?

I did a full year internship with the company Bern Ballett in Switzerland. Having worked with various people, I learned a lot about the way that certain choreographers differentiate from each other in their way of approaching choreography and movement. This while experiencing diverse movement languages. I also learned a lot about being frequently on stage and performing completely different pieces. Learning to look for a combination of consistency, risk-taking, sensitivity and being present. Next to that I learned a lot from my beautiful colleagues as movers and as people. I feel very grateful to have had the opportunity to grow and learn in space with very kind, smart and warm people.
