"The aftertaste of an all-encompassing feeling of belonging. Sometimes, I wish I could store some of the moonlight in a jar, so I can always carry it with me. It reminds me of the time my reflection still saw a girl.”

Levon is a multidisciplinary artist and researcher, with his work focussed on how one’s personal identity can be most prominent through memory and the passing of time. His graduation performance installation is a result of an extensive research on what memories his body holds and where it is stored as a transgender body of water. As well as it being a result of Levon tracing back the IJssel River to connect to what lies beyond his self, to give over to the idea that his body is connected to something that is bigger than his self and that even though the past gone, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it is lost.

“So much depends on whether other bodies are far or near from us. Frozen in time, like a bridge between two realities. I find myself in the past, the essence of my being written in the promise of becoming like the same faces of the past.”
