A space you carry

According to Vietnamese, “gánh” means “to carry”. And the word “gánh” is used either to describe a form of vendor with the baskets on their shoulder or to define an action of carrying items on the shoulder. From the research of sidewalk vendors to the previous research about the basket vendors, my research this time focuses on developing from the idea of the image of a street vendor to turn it into a space where people can carry their go and move to other places. Hence, I must emphasize that this is not a study of how people change their way of living nor to pursue a nomad lifestyle. It can be said that this research of mine is closely related to how to live with natural disasters and still be able to bring what is necessary with you. More importantly, this paper mainly to address a way of using space through the concept of “gánh” and from their relation with the body. I enhance the human expressively in this research due to my point of view on how to change our way of thinking towards space from the story of the horrendous earthquake events happening in the world.
