Janita Tögel

Energy, Creative, Janita.

Janita is 28 years old, has a trained background in music, theater and the last 4 years she focused on adding dance to this combination. During her studies she has worked towards her own way of putting the three into a mix to teach, choreograph, perform and simply work enthusiastically with lots of energy in different contexts:
Partnering with TINO-Educare, Janita is running the program ‘performing MDT’, introducing students to the performing Arts in social and cultural relevancy. Leaning on key MDT factors, connecting students and people outside of their regular bubble serves as foundation. Importantly, the core of the connection, of the whole program really, is a part of the TINO-method: students lead an interview talking to their new acquaintances about what skills they developed (often unconsciously) through challenges they encountered in their work. Guiding them with the interviews, from there Janita works with the students together to create a show out of the interview stories. Here Janita also makes use of her performing arts and teaching network, being joined by several interdisciplinary professionals from the field to support and challenge the students creatively. While each performance has enjoyed very precious moments, Janita’s personal favorite so far is ‘Concierges in de spotlight: Hoe lossen wij dit op?’.
The experiences Janita makes with different groups at schools is actually the knowledge she puts to use in another, to her comparable, context: With her Bachelor thesis Janita introduces Dance improvisation as the innovation the Business world needs to succeed. Researching how to put together an art based practice using dance improvisation for Personnel Development, Management Training and Teambuilding Janita takes her teaching and people skills to an entrepreneur level.
This side of her also comes through on a managing line, supporting artists on an organizational and creative level pushing their individual path in the arts work field. Working with musicians, dancers and actors Janita shapes press kits, supports music videos and is in general seen for anything as the right hand an artist needs in many strategic decisions on the way to proficiency.
The musicians, dancers and actors she has worked with so far are people she mainly knows from creating interdisciplinary, mostly educational, interactive performances, where she participated as maker and performer herself. Because while enjoying herself on an organizational level a lot for sure, at the core of all, Janita simply is a studied Artist Educator wanting to be busy with the craft she learned.
That’s why in the midst of all the different projects, Janita follows workwise, she still very much enjoys the opportunity to teach at dance and musical studios weekly: Improvisation, Modern, Musical -the styles Janita is mainly providing lessons in right now for groups of the very little ones up to the senior generation still keeping up with it.
