Who are you as a performer/artist?

I am a very curious and eclectic artist who loves reflecting, speculating , and investigating movement and performance practice with a strong analytical, introspective and experimental approach. I always aim to bring my story as an individual, my cultural and artistic knowledge and heritage to inform the work I am busy with as a performer, which I am creating as a choreographer, or even watching as a spectator.

As an artist I am charmed by the marvel of the human body, its anatomical structure, the motion which naturally exists within the physical borders of it as well as the one which reveals itself in the form of external movement and makes dance practice possible.

What are your ambitions?

At this moment what I can say is that I am eager to keep on working in the performing arts field and use all my cultural, human and artistic knowledge, my creativity and embodied notions to create opportunities for communities to get in touch in a more accessible way with performing arts and therefore fighting the elitist dimension that this field conventionally has, especially in Italy where I am from.

I do not know whether this is going to happen as a performer, choreographer, or dance producer/ organizer, but for sure this is something I aim to achieve.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration in the good and honest human beings around me, in the kindness, the energy ,the love, and the motivation that they share with me through their words, smiles, movement or any other form.

I find inspiration in the human body itself and in all situations of life which bring individuals together as communities within an atmosphere of love, care and altruism.

Lastly, I find inspiration in nature, in the moment when the sun is appearing through the clouds after a rainy day and a warm breeze caresses my hands while I am walking on soft grass.

What did you do at your internship & what did you learn?

I carried out my internship at Dance Company Theater Osnabrück in Germany where I performed works by Ed Wubbe, Iratxe Ansa and Igor Bacovich, Adi Salant and Maciej Kuźmiński and where I also had the chance to share my love for movement by teaching varied groups of people.

Among a huge amount of technical, professional and artistic learning, I believe that the most precious acquisition I got came from observing the attitude of my colleagues and the invited artists and understanding which among those behaviors I would like to implement in my career, which ones may help me become the version of the artist that I aim to become, as well as understanding the ones I do not want to take on.

Trust only movement. Life happens at the level of events, not of words. Trust movement”.  -Alfred Adler
