Graduation project Fine Art and Design in Education: this is why I create what I create

Sarah Doorduin did the bachelor course Fine Art and Design in Education. In a video, she tells us which experiences during this course influenced her graduation project. Her finals are about the ability to justify your work: being able to speak about it, explain it, and how important those abilities are if you want to graduate. “Look at me. And see me with all my vulnerabilities. I think that my work is also about that. It’s why I create what I create,” she says.

In the video, we hear sound recordings that Sarah made. She explains: “I felt like I had to constantly justify what I was doing. For a long time, I viewed myself as a bad storyteller. So, I incorporated that in the sound recordings I made. I noticed that this was getting in my way, including when I had to justify my work.”
