Djemida Tönjes provides music therapy to make people with dementia feel better

"Good morning, how wonderfull that you are here. Welcome to the music!” By singing these words, Djemida Tönjes conjures up a big smile on the faces of the residents of Zorggroep Noorderboog in Meppel. Every Saturday morning, she visits the healthcare group to provide music therapy sessions for people with dementia. “Especially when speaking is no longer a way of communicating, music still speaks,” Djemida explains. She obtained her Master’s degree in Music Therapy at the NVAO-recognized Master Music Therapy course at ArtEZ in Enschede. Discover how Djemida uses music to make people feel better.
