Graduation concert Riccardo Fortunato, Master The Sound of Innovation: Demut
Saturday, June 11, 2022 | 11.00 am | Enschede
Riccardo Fortunato is a young modern music composer. He will soon graduate from the Master The Sound of Innovation at the ArtEZ Academy of Music in Enschede. Musical concepts around themes such as "time", "silence", "eternity" and a respectful attitude against the sacred in the arts are a constant focus in his musical works. His latest work, "Demut," was written based on these themes and inspired by Eastern Orthodox traditions and spirituality. It was written for string quartet, mixed choir and carillon and will be premiered on June 11, 2022 in the Grote Kerk Enschede as part of his final exam.
Meet a new generation of dancers! First-, second- and third-year students from the ArtEZ Bachelor of Dance course present themselves in existing and new choreographies by Astrid Boons, Eldad Ben Sasson, Fernando Troya and others.
Vocal Ensemble Cordier sings an a cappella program, led by Jurriaan, including works by Holst, Gesualdo and Furrer, but also two premieres by Ruben Stolp and Diederik van der Laag. This concert is the conclusion of a choral day that Cordier organized together with the Wilminktheater. One of the goals of this day is for young composers to be paired with amateur choirs from the Twente region and for both sides to gain work experience. The new works will also be presented in the afternoon of this choral day.
