I'm Anouk Werger, vocalist and songwriter for ANN BLU, and founder of FEMXLE FRONTIER. I'm graduating as a vocalist from the ArtEZ Conservatory in Enschede, Popacademie program. Since I wanted to incorporate my minors in Songwriting/Free and Music Management into my graduation project, I chose to organize an event through the FEMXLE FRONTIER collective. During this event, I will perform a set with my band ANN BLU.
I'm Anouk Werger, and I'm graduating with my collective, FEMXLE FRONTIER.
Throughout the years at ArtEZ, I’ve had — and taken — the freedom to explore where I belong in the music industry. I started my first year at the Popacademie with the idea that I didn’t just want to be a vocalist, but that I also wanted to do “something behind the scenes.” At the same time, I wanted to improve my skills as a songwriter. That’s why I chose specific minors, including the Music Management minor, where I learned about programming and stage management through events like the Booster Festival. I also took a free minor focusing on songwriting and production, which allowed me to dedicate a lot of my study hours to writing new music for ANN BLU.
What really helped me turn all of these projects into a clear profile were the add-ons and coaching opportunities available throughout the program. There’s a lot on offer — but you have to be the one to take it. For me, everything I picked up over the years finally came together when I got the idea to graduate with Femxle Frontier. The concept had been with me for a while, and in December 2024 I officially started building the collective. Since then, we’ve organized three events in Enschede and contributed to the 2025 edition of Booster Festival, in collaboration with The Fem Dem. On May 15th, we’re hosting a triple-bill night at Tankstation Enschede, and we’re already making plans to organize similar events throughout the eastern Netherlands.
I hope to see you there on May 15th <3
