Groove Galaxy – a game in concert. Groove Galaxy is an exciting musical space journey about resilience, friendship and courage.
For this game in concert, Stephan van der Woerd wrote new music as a soundtrack to the video game he programmed himself, together with his brother Rein.
Projected on a large screen, the game follows the story of 5 band members, who look suspiciously like the musicians on stage. In a Star Wars-like environment, they encounter hefty challenges. With a wink and a critical note, they play through them.
For the music of this graduation concert, Stephan was inspired by artists such as Herbie Hancock, Louis Cole, Makaya McCraven, Kokoroko and Harold López-Nussa. Music, technology and visual work form a crossover in Groove Galaxy.
