Joram van Duijn | ArtEZ finals

Contemporary music combined with ecology and technology. Fields is an interdisciplinary concert by composer Joram van Duijn, focusing on soil life and (micro)habitats in nature.

From the perspective of a group of biologists, played by six musicians, they conduct field research in a wooded environment. Using self-built ‘field scanners’, the performers collect data and learn about their surroundings; the results of these scans become visible in sound, 3D animation, and music!

The concert consists of two parts, with a (short) lecture by biologist Marc Siepman in between.
