Anna Martirosian has been studying classical violin since she was nine years old. She has since won prizes at various competitions, such as first prize at the JMCO Competition and third prize at the Gelre Chamber Music Competition. For her final concert in her last year at ArtEZ, she will perform Saint-Saëns' Third Violin Concerto under the direction of Alejandro Cantalpiedra.

Ever since I went to the Deventer Theatre with my mother when I was nine to try out all kinds of instruments, it was only the violin that had caught my attention. Its elegance, classical appearance, and the beauty of its sound convinced me to give it a try. A few months later, I started my first violin lesson and knew immediately that I wanted to do something with the violin.
Currently, I am studying at the ArtEZ Conservatory in Zwolle with Annechien van Blom. Since then, my love and passion for the violin have grown stronger than ever. Of course, I had already enjoyed playing the violin immensely before that, but I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do with it, although my gut feeling tells me to continue. I have recently participated in various competitions, and since my first year at the conservatory, I had participated in the Gelre Chamber Music Competition with Menno Verloop as a violin duo, and thanks to the prize, we were invited to a masterclass with Liza Ferschtman, which was a wonderful experience! At that time, I was also busy finding a suitable violin for myself. A beautiful 1931 Möller from the NMF is like a gift to me and something on which I can push myself to the limit and further develop for more occasions to come!
