The 4th Location
ArtEZ Academy of Music’s 4th Location is a groundbreaking platform that brings together technology and music. Music students and professionals can participate in live, remote collabs – as if they were in the same studio.
Connected by sound
The online location connects our studios in Arnhem, Enschede and Zwolle, enabling you to record, edit and mix creations across multiple locations. For example, a student in Enschede could record a piece of orchestral music in Zwolle while a jazz session is happening in Arnhem. The virtual nature of the platform enables students, composers, musicians and lecturers to play music together in real time across multiple locations.
Removing barriers to collaboration
Alongside collaborations between students in different cities, the 4th Location supports cross-border projects with international partners. It’s now easier to create sustainable, creative networks that are deeply connected despite being kilometres apart.
