Academies

ArtEZ Academy of Music

With over 800 students and 250 teachers, ArtEZ Academy of Music is one of the largest conservatories in the Netherlands. It encompasses three locations: Arnhem, Enschede and Zwolle. Each location has a small-scale, friendly atmosphere. Our students reap the rewards of personal guidance and close contact with teachers, other members of staff and fellow students.

Studying at the academy

Each location has its own special atmosphere, often reflected in the music they make! The setting is small yet offers all the advantages, facilities and potential of an academy on a much larger scale. Enjoy wide-ranging masterclasses by national and international guest lecturers and countless opportunities to make music in a band or orchestra with students from other programmes.

Crossing international borders

ArtEZ Academy of Music collaborates with a host of institutions in the EU and beyond: Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory, Folkwang Hochschule in Essen, Musikhochschule Münster, the Department of Music at the University of Leeds, Hangzhou Normal University in China and the music academies of Brno (Czech Republic), Wrocław (Poland), Barcelona (Spain) and Riga (Latvia). These courses organise joint projects and festivals, facilitate international exchanges of both lecturers and students, and focus on the quality of the music education.

With an Erasmus grant from the EU’s Lifelong Learning Programme, students can study at an institution abroad. We have Erasmus partners in Germany, Finland, France, Latvia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland, to name but a few.
