Britt Tebbens
Britt Tebbens is geboren in 2002. Vanaf haar vijfde is ze begonnen met dansen, er ontstond een droom om verder te gaan met dans in het professionele werkveld. Vanaf tienjarige leeftijd is ze begonnen op de vooropleiding van de dansacademie Codarts in Rotterdam. Gevolgd door vijf jaar op de havo/vwo voor muziek en dans, ook gekoppeld aan Codarts. Na het behalen van haar havodiploma is ze op zestienjarige leeftijd begonnen op Bachelor Docent Dans aan ArtEZ, nu zit ze in haar laatste jaar.
Door jaren te dansen aan een vakopleiding heeft Britt veel interesse gekregen voor stijlen zoals klassiek, floorwork en modern technieken. Het liefst geeft ze dan ook in deze stijlen les aan leerlingen vanaf acht tot en met twintig jaar. In haar lessen staat het dansplezier voorop en het creëren van een gezellige sfeer zodat alle leerlingen zich veilig voelen in de lessen.
Voor haar profilering is Britt bezig geweest met het maken van een tapworkshop om zo meer aandacht en interesse te creëren voor tapdans. De workshop is speciaal gecreëerd voor veertien tot achttienjarige omdat jongeren uit deze leeftijdsgroep vaker willen stoppen met dansen of opzoek zijn naar iets anders dan de klassieke dansstijl waar ze al lang mee bezig zijn.
Volgend jaar hoopt Britt dat ze met al haar ervaringen en connecties als dans docent kan gaan werken. Daarnaast wil ze verder studeren om zo in de toekomst ook les te kunnen geven op middelbare scholen in de kunstvakken. Om zo ook haar passie voor de danskunst over te kunnen brengen aan veel diverse leerlingen.

Britt Tebbens was born in 2002. She started dancing from the age of five, and a dream arose to continue dancing in the professional field. From the age of ten she started at the pre-education of the dance academy at Codarts in Rotterdam. Followed by five years at the high school for music and dance, which is also linked to Codarts. After receiving her high school diploma, she started her bachelor’s Dance and Education degree at ArtEZ at sixteen years old, now she is in her last year.
By dancing at a dance academy for years Britt created a big interest in dance techniques like ballet, floorwork and modern technique. She prefers to teach these styles to children from the age of eight to twenty. In her classes the fun of dancing is paramount, creating a cozy atmosphere so that all students feel safe in her classes.
For her thesis Britt has focused on creating tap dance workshops to attract a bigger audience and interest in tap dance. The workshop is aimed at students from the age of fourteen to eighteen years old. Because at this age students either stop dancing or are looking for a new dance style then the ones they have been doing for a long time.
Next year Britt hopes to be able to work as a dance teacher with all her experiences and connections. She also wants to continue her studies in order to be able to teach various art classes at high schools in the future. This way she will be able to convey all her passion for the art of dance to many diverse students.
