Study at ArtEZ

Applying to ArtEZ? Follow these three steps

If you want to enrol in a programme at ArtEZ, you first need to complete the admission procedure. Think of the procedure as an introduction – it helps you find out whether the programme is right for you, and whether you are right for the programme. You can apply for admission through Studielink from 1 October. Once you have been admitted, you can enrol in the programme. On this page, we will explain exactly how application, admission and enrolment work.

1. Check the admission requirements

Choose your programme in the programme overview. Then select Application and admission in the menu. This shows you the admission requirements for the programme and what you need to take part in the admission procedure. Take note of the application dates and the language requirements. Some programmes require early application, while others still welcome applications after 1 May.

Apply through Studielink

Studielink is a national application system for higher education. You need to create a Studielink account to use it.

Create a Studielink account using your DigiD. If you do not have a DigiD, you can request one at www.digid.nl - it takes about five working days.

Upload a copy of your ID document in Studielink to create an account.

If you are a student from outside the European Union, you should apply as early as possible. That will give you enough time to request your visa and residence permit once you have been admitted. The deadline for submitting the required documents is 31 May.

If you have a question about Studielink, visit the  Studielink Q&A page.

2. Start your admission

After applying in Studielink, our Student Affairs department will send you a confirmation email with your student number. You will receive more information about admission from the programme itself. The procedure differs from programme to programme – it may involve an audition or an entrance exam, for example.

Your admission is only valid for the programme you applied for. If you want to audition for a programme or specialisation at a different location, you must apply separately. Admission is only valid for the academic year following the entrance exam.

For more information about admission to the programme of your choice, check its Application and admission page.

3. Enrol in the programme

Have you been admitted? Congratulations! You can now proceed to enrol. Below you will find the checklist with the enrolment conditions.

You will be enrolled for the 2026-2027 academic year once you have met all the conditions by 31 August 2026 at the latest. Do you need a residence permit to study in the Netherlands? Then the deadline is 31 May 2026.

Tip!
Arrange everything as soon as possible – you can only start your programme if you enrol on time.
